Areas of Competition / Fast Tracks

Below you will find the list of all areas of competition or “fast tracks” that will be held during the week of the national final. The winners in every category will be guaranteed a spot in finalists’ top 25 and will receive official Miss World America 2019 and Miss Teen World America 2019 fast track trophies! While not all fast tracks are required (marked with an asterisk*), we encourage you to participate in all of them to increase your chances of winning!

(All fast tracks apply to both – Miss World America and Miss Teen World America contestants)

Beauty with a Purpose*

CHARITY PROJECT COMPETITION

Required for all Miss World America and Miss Teen World America contestants.

All State Winners will be required to submit their “Beauty with a Purpose” (BWAP) project package, including:
  • a description of their project and achievements in a text form
  • a video including 1-minute statement from the contestant work that they have achieved for the charity
  • photos of the work that they have achieved for the charity
All submissions will be reviewed by the judges prior to the final event and select five most well-rounded and elaborated projects, that will advance to the top 25. During the final, three top videos will be played on stage, and the judges will announce one winner who will receive “Beauty with a Purpose” Award. Miss World America will also make a donation to the charity of the winner’s choice.

Interview*

INTERVIEW

Required for all Miss World America and Miss Teen World America contestants.

Brief private interviews with the contestants.

Judges may ask about contestant’s background, education, hobbies and aspirations, as well as get her opinion on a wide range of global topics.

The goal of this part of the competition is to get a feel of contestant’s personality, interpersonal skills, ability to connect with the interviewer.

The winner will receive a “Best Interview” Award. The winner and a runner-up will be guaranteed a spot in the Final Top 25.

Top Model*

RUNWAY COMPETITION AND DESIGNER DRESS SHOWCASE

Required for all contestants.

All state finalists will participate in a runway show during the preliminary state of the contest. Not only the contestants will be judged based on their ability to gracefully walk the runway, pose and feel confident in front of
the cameras, the main decisive factor will be the overall impression that their personal style and taste make on the judges and the audience.
One winner will be announced during the final, receive “Top Model” Award and a custom made dress by Top Model Challenge sponsor. The winner and a runner-up will be guaranteed a spot in the Final Top 25.

Influencer*

SOCIAL MEDIA RACE

Required for all contestants.

From the day when they arrive at the host city and up until the beginning of the final event, all state winners will be required to post in social media and interact with their fans, using specific hash tags, check-ins, etc. (the list of requirements will be provided). One winner with the most social media traction will be announced during the final and will receive “Influencer” Award. Top three contestants will advance to the top 25. The winner will also receive BIGinfluencer Certificate of the Winner, a free influencer marketing session by BIGinfluencer specialist, and personalized tips for all winner’s social media accounts. The winner will be featured on BIGinfluencer platform throughout 2019.

Sports

FITNESS COMPETITION

*sponsored by RNR FITS

Optional for all contestants.

During the preliminary stage of the competition, the contestants will be participating in a sports competition (more details to follow). One winner shall be announced right after the competition, receive a “Fitness” award during the final event. The winner and a runner-up will advance to the top 25.

Talent

TALENT COMPETITION AND SHOWCASE

Optional for contestants.

Contestants willing to participate in this fast track will need to submit one performance video or self-tape for pre-judging. Based on the submitted videos, the judges will select 5 contestants that will participate in the talent competition during the preliminary stage of the competition. Acceptable formats: singing, dancing, playing an instrument (no specialty acts, acting, poetry, painting or monologues). One winner will be announced during the final, receive “Talent” Award and perform her winning number during the final event. The winner and the runner up will be guaranteed a spot in the Top 25.

Entrepreneur

AD SPACE SALES COMPETITION

Optional for contestants.

(The contestants can opt in the Entrepreneur Challenge though after meeting the requirement of one full page ad in our program book.)

Starting from the date of the State Winner announcement, the State Winner can start an ad space selling campaign for our official Miss World America and Miss Teen World America Program Book. The contestants will be accumulating points based on the number and type of ad space sold. Five contestants with the most number of points shall advance to the Top 25, and one contestant with the biggest number of points shall receive “Entrepreneur” Award.
