Miss World America Is Changing Its Format for 2020

Miss World America will modify the format of the national event this year. The competition will take place in the form of a virtual online pageant.

Our mission has always been to empower young women across the country and promote “Beauty with a Purpose”. During these uncertain and ever-changing times, we want to support and uplift the spirits of young women and society overall through the celebration of beauty, talent, intellect, empathy, unity, and philanthropy, even if it has to take place in our living rooms!

– says Michael Blakey, Miss World America National Director.

We are going to revolutionize the pageant industry and do something that has never been done before. We will hold a virtual competition, complete with hosts, live audience, real-time judging, artist performances, celebrity guest appearances, interviews, and virtual networking events.

– says Katya Shalayeva, Miss World America Executive Vice President and Creative Director.

The contestants will participate in real-time preliminary competitions in front of a live audience and judges. They will also collaborate and rehearse, interacting with viewers. Each contestant will be able to plug into Miss World America events through her smartphone or laptop without the necessity to travel or be away from her family and day-to-day commitments.

The viewers will have access to series of online virtual events during October. The audience will have an opportunity to interact with the hosts, contestants, and other show participants, partake in live polls, virtual VIP networking events, and much more!

Miss World America has confirmed preliminary competitions will include Beauty with a Purpose, Influencer Challenge, Talent Showcase, Interview, Entrepreneur Challenge, Top Model Challenge, and People’s Choice. Miss World America’s creative team also designed a few new challenges this year to test contestants’ intellectual abilities and presenting skills.

As the virtual events wrap up, the newly crowned Miss World America and Miss Teen World America will set out on an all-expense-paid trip to Los Angeles for an official crowning ceremony, photoshoot, appearances, media interviews, and other exciting activities.
